c. ECB News Flash – Minutes for February 7, 2015
1/ A list of 2016-17 deacon candidate nominations has been
endorsed by the ECB. Congregation pastors will be contacting
individual nominees for their intention to stand for election.
2/ MCCC will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2017. The ECB
has formed a 30th Anniversary Celebration planning committee.
ECB members in the committee are Deacon Ophelia Lau (Chair),
Deacons Irene Cheung and Rossana Wong (Cantonese
Congregation), Deacon Laura Chang (Mandarin Congregation),
and Deacon Wylie Poon (English Congregation).
3/ 2015 MCCC Summer Camp – Guest speakers have been
confirmed. The Cantonese speaker is Rev. Dr. Peter Mah, the
Mandarin speaker is Rev. Dr. Michael Tsang, the English speaker
is Pastor Freddy Lam and the Children’s speaker is Pastor Teresa
Tong and team.
4/ 2015 MCCC Church Leadership Training will be held on Saturday,
April 18 between 9:00am and 12:30pm. The speaker will be Rev.
Terence Lau. All current deacons, congregational ministry
committee members, fellowship committee members/coordinators,
group leaders, Sunday school teachers and those who want to
serve in leadership position are encouraged to attend.
5/ The ECB has approved supporting Pastor Timothy Chan of
Ambassadors for Christ with $3,000 to be taken from MCCC
designated portion of “ACEM Mission 5% carry forward fund”.
