a. 2018-19 Deacon Nomination Committee has been formed with the following
initial member structure: Rev. Vincent Lee, Rev. John Hua, Rev. Andy Wong,
Deaconess Laura Chang (chair), Deaconess Frances Wen and Deacon Sam
Watt. The committee is recruiting non-deacon representatives from all three
congregations. Names of representatives will be endorsed during next ECB
meeting in February.
b. As of January 21, 2017, Pastor Tim Yuen has officially become the Children’s
Pastor of Milliken CCC with long-term status. May our Lord continue to bless
Pastor Tim’s ministry.
c. ECB has accepted the application for membership of Milliken CCC from the
following sisters and brothers from Mandarin Congregation: Mrs. Bin Chen,
Mrs. Xiu Xi Yang, Mr. Hao He and Mr. Qing Chen. If there are questions
concerning their applications, please write to ECB delivered through the
pastors or deacons.
d. Church library will schedule two consecutive Sundays to display old books
and CDs: materials in Cantonese version displayed on February 12 and those
in Mandarin version on February 19. Those materials will be free for pick-up.
e. Outdoor church sign by the pedestrian sidewalk was taken down as it was
badly damaged by strong wind. GM department is looking for a professional
contractor to manage this project. Meanwhile, ECB is considering an
alternative outdoor sign.
f. ECB has approved the following agencies to reserve our church’s space with
the following details:
i. ACEM has reserved the Sanctuary and Chapel for pastoral fellowship on
February 15, April 26, June 21, September 20 and October 25 from 9:30
am to 12:30 pm.
ii. TWR Canada Chinese Ministry has reserved the Sanctuary for their
graduation ceremony on May 13 from 10 am to 12 pm.
iii. CCIC has reserved four rooms in the basement for March Break Day
Camp for the parents and children of Syrian refugees from March 13 to 16
from 9 am to 2 pm. Pastor Tim Yuen will be involved as a volunteer worker
for this day camp.
