News Flash from ECB Meeting on May 1, 2017:
a. Membership meeting will be held in sanctuary on Sunday May 28 at 2:00 pm. All
church members are encouraged to attend and cast their ballots for the following
items on that day:
• Election of deacons 2018-2019.
• Approval of Financial Statements 2016 and Auditor’s Report.
• Appointment of Cheng and Chui, LLP to audit Financial Statements for 2017.
• Approval of the church’s Annual Report 2016.
Times and places for collecting ballots will be arranged as follows:
Cantonese Congregation: 9:10 – 9:25 am and 10:45 – 11:00 am in sanctuary;
12:45 – 1:00 pm in chapel
Mandarin Congregation (joint worship): 12:45 – 1:00 pm in lawn outside the
church
English Congregation: 11:00 – 11:15 am in chapel
b. Candidates for election of deacon 2018-2019 are listed as follows:
Cantonese Congregation: Mr. Chris Cheng, Ms. Ophelia Lau and Mr. Joseph
Wong
Mandarin Congregation: Mr. Yong Tang
English Congregation: Mr. Wilson Young, Mr. Wylie Poon
c. The fund from Finland STM is now distributed as follows:
1/ $2,000 to the missionary couple, Henry and Wendy Chuang, through Christian
and Missionary Alliance.
2/ $1,797.57 will be carried by Germany STM team to spend on items to address
the needs of local missionaries. Deaconess Sheila Xu will be responsible for
monitoring the spending.
d. Approved two agencies to reserve our church’s space with following details:
1/ ACEM has reserved sanctuary to hold a prayer meeting for world mission on
Wednesday May 31 at 8 pm.
2/Canada Worship and Music Ministry Association has reserved sanctuary and
B10 for a thanksgiving and testimony event on Sunday June 25 from 6 pm to
10:30 pm.
