MCCC Special Membership Meeting – A special membership meeting will be held on Sunday, November 13 at 2:00pm for the approval of the 2023 church budget
A. Members can vote to approve the budget through electronic voting between Saturday, October 29 and Saturday, November 12 on Election Buddy. Members who have provided their emails for voting will receive invitations on Friday, October 28. Members who want to add/update their emails for electronic voting can send their email addresses to mcccmemberemail@gmail.com.
B. Members who have not provided their email addresses can continue to vote in-person in mail-in voting sessions at church. The mail-in voting sessions will be held on 3 Sundays (October 30, November 6 and November 13) after worship services in the main foyer.
C. The 2023 budget draft is now posted on the bulletin board in the hallway for viewing
D. An information session for the budget and the special membership meeting will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 8:00pm on Zoom
ECB News (2022, Sep 27)
A. Effective immediately, congregations, fellowships and small groups are permitted to serve food and eat within the church building, as long as these rules are followed: No garbage is to be left inside the church building (do not leave garbage in the garbage and green bins inside the
church building; garbage should be dumped in bins outside the church building or taken home) Spaces used for serving and eating the food should be completely clean after use. No cooking allowed in the church building. Food can be brought into the church and reheated if needed. No leftover food is allowed to be kept in the church; all leftover food should be taken home. Each congregation/fellowship/small group will be responsible for managing their own garbage disposal and cleaning
B. The ECB has formed the Youth Pastoral Hiring Committee. Pastor Josiah Tse is the convener of the committee.
C. MCCC 35th Anniversary – A 35th Anniversary Prayer Walk will be held on Sunday, October 9th between 10:15am and 11:00am. Pastors and interns will be leading small groups around the community for prayer. Brothers and sisters from all congregations are encouraged to attend.
D. Thanksgiving Food Drive – Brothers and sisters are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items at church on Sundays between October 2 and October 23. All collected food will be donated to 105 Gibson Centre.
E. MCCC will be sponsoring an Afghan refugee family selected by Pastor Obed from the ACEM Afghan Church plant. The family is expected to arrive in Canada in December-January. Volunteers will be needed to help the family with needs such as transportation, finding housing, etc. (more details will be available later).
