1/ Special AGM – MCCC will be holding a special AGM on June 22
(Sunday) to approve:
a/ Both the “Articles of Continuance” and new “Bylaw” for MCCC’s
continuance under the new Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act
(CNCA) and
b/ Authorize the ECB to change the use of leftover funds from the
2006 Short Term Mission Trip to Finland, in the amount of $3,798,
for other ministry-related purposes.
– There will be 3 Pre-AGM Briefing and Information Sessions: June 1
from 1-2pm, and June 8 from 1-2pm and 4-5pm.
– At least a 2/3 approval from the membership is required for the
AGM items to be passed. MCCC Members are strongly encouraged
to attend the Meeting on June 22, and vote on both items after
worship.
2/ Ordination Ceremony and Banquet for Pastor Luke Xie
a. According to the will of God, the need of the church and the
acknowledgment of the gifts and passion of the pastor, ACEM and
Milliken CCC will celebrate the ordination of Pastor Luke Xie on
June 28th (Sat) at 2 pm. at GSCC Sanctuary. We welcome your
presence to participate in the joy of this occasion!
b. A banquet will be held in the evening at 6:30pm at Diamond
Banquet Hall (First Markham Place). Banquet tickets are $35 and
will be sold starting May 18. To buy tickets please contact Shumei
Chang (Mandarin Congregation) or Irene Cheung (Cantonese and
English Congregation).
3/ 40 Days in the Word – Additional Chinese books have been published
and ready to be distributed today. To receive a book, please contact
the congregational ’40 Days in the Word’ representative.
4/ Summer Internship – Henry Chuang will be serving as an English
Congregation summer intern at MCCC between June and August for
12 weeks. Please pray for him as he is currently serving in a short
term mission trip in Japan.
5/ Canada Day Celebration Outreach Event – There will be many game
booths at the MCCC Canada Day Celebration Outreach Event on July
1 from 11am to 3pm. Each game booth will need two fellowships to
look after. If you are interested in serving at a game booth, please
contact your fellowship leader.
