ECB News Flash (May 30):

A. In the 2023 Annual General Meeting on May 28, 2023, 159 out of 247 (64.37%) church members voted and all motions below were accepted.
a. Election of 2024-25 Deacons:
• Cantonese Congregation – Sam Watt
• Mandarin Congregation – James Li, Torrey Phua, and Henry Jing
• English Congregation – Alvin Lee
b. Approval of 2022 MCCC Audited Financial Statement
c. Approval of Stephen P.F. Chui Professional Corp as public accountant for preparation of 2023 MCCC Audited Financial Statement
d. Approval of 2022 MCCC Annual Report
e. Approval of minutes of Milliken Christian Community Church’s Special Membership Meeting on November 13, 2022

B. Pastor Katherine, Steve Chao, and their two daughters will be going to a field visitation in Taiwan between June 30 and July 23, 2023. They will help run a children’s camp and seek opportunities to build partnerships for future field visitations.

C. Praise God for providing us with three wonderful summer interns this year. They are Andrienne Luong and Andy Huang who will work from June 13 to August 18, and Jeffrey Zhu who will work from July 3 to August 18. May the Lord bless the work of their hands in the Children and Youth Ministries. Funding for two summer student hiring is provided by Canada Summer Jobs, a government of Canada program. We pray that our summer students will be able to effectively serve the children of our community through their work at MCCC.

D. Canada Day Community Outreach – The annual Canada Day Community Outreach event will be returning to MCCC on July 1st between 10:30am and 3:30pm. There will be giveaways of prepackaged snacks, booth games organized by all congregations, prayers for Canada, and stage performances. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to invite their neighbours and friends to attend.

E. Steve Chao has replaced Grace Cheng as a Condo Board director.
