ECB News Flash (Feb 20)

A. Community activity: “Crochet”
Date: March 20 to May 8 (Every Wednesday, 8 classes all in total)
Time: 10:00am to 11:30am
Place: Basement B10
Teacher: Ms. Sijin
Material: You need to prepare crochet needle(3mm) and crochet yarn,4 strands or 4-ply
Registration: Ms. Rossana Wong (416-451-9992)

B. MCCC will be sponsoring an Afghan refugee family selected by Pastor Obed from the ACEM Afghan Church plant. The family is expected to arrive in Canada in early April 2024. Volunteers will be needed to help the family with needs such as transportation, finding housing, etc. (more details will be available later). If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact pastoral staff of your congregation.

Here are the main responsibilities of the volunteers when they arrive (working together with a team from Afghan church:
a. Welcoming the family when they arrive at the airport.
b. Finding second-hand furniture and other home appliances.
c. Helping to find clothes and shoes for the family.
